Israel Rodríguez-Giralt at #jotambé event discussing about the effects of conceptualizing pandemics in terms of “health emergency” preparedness
COVID-19 crisis has helped to highlight the historical invisibility and undervaluation of care. Even so, the set of measures to face this pandemic continues to resort to social isolation and long-term physical distancing to avoid contagion. If our social organism is a reflection of our interdependent nature, what future scenarios does a long-term distancing draw us? What society do we have after lockdown?
This talk is part of the # jotambé. Gender Violence and Power Structures event organized by the UOC’s Equality Unit and the Sala Beckett that took place from April 7 to June 18, 2021 in the Sala Beckett and which proposes a reflection on the established power structures and about the different tools we build to deal with them.
