Senior Cohousing Virtual Congress opens with an inaugural session by Daniel López on the development of senior cohousing in Spain and giving a comparative analysis with Nordic countries

On November 16, 2020, researcher Daniel López Gómez gave a presentation at the Senior Virtual Cohousing Congress. “A new model of coexistence is possible“. This event was organized by the Spanish Confederation of Cooperatives of Consumers and Users HISPACOOP in order to reflect on the situation and challenges of collaborative senior cohousing in Spain, its different realities, the legal frameworks that are being implemented as well as the possibilities of fitting with social services and care for the older people.

In the video of the opening session (in Spanish) corresponding to the first day of the online congress, the researcher analyzes the development of collaborative senior cohousing in Spain through the results obtained in the MOVICOMA Project and gives a comparative analysis based on his recent fieldwork conducted in Denmark.
