Mònica Genover

Mònica Genover has a degree in Psychology (UdG, 2015) and a Master in Psychogerontology (UB, 2018). Currently, she is a PhD student in the Social-Organizational Psychology program (UB) and FI grant holder (Generalitat de Catalunya).
Her field of research is feminist critical gerontology. Her thesis revolves around the construction of aging and care in housing with services for the elderly, exploring what it means to age in community from an intersectional perspective.
Her professional career is developed in the community, residential and academic fields, combining research and intervention. She has a special interest in participatory methodologies, such as the use of social theater as an instrument to built collectively strategies to combat situations of inequality and discrimination. In several projects, she has researched and worked on the intersection of age, gender, sexuality and migratory background.
